Fable of the Porcupine

It was the coldest winter ever.

Many animals died because of the
cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided
to group together. This way they covered and protected
themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest
companions even though they gave off heat to each other.
After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one
from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen.

So they had to make a choice:

Either accept the quills of
their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely,
they decided to go back to being together. This way they
learned to live with the little wounds that were caused by the
close relationship with their companion, but the most
important part of it, was the heat that came from the others.
This way they were able to survive.

Moral of the story:

The best relationship is not the one that brings
together perfect people, but the best is when each individual
learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire
the other person's good qualities.

The Pencil Story

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box."There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

1.: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."
2.: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."
3.: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."
4.: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."
5.: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart............

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you.

1.: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in the hands of the divine and allow others to access you for the many gifts you possess.
2.: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.
3.: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.
4.: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.
5.: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

NAMASTE !

My spirit greets your spirit. At our essence, we are one.

where the universe resides
in love, in peace in truth.
For if you are in that place in you
and I am in that place in me,
there's only one of us

THE RICHNESS OF LIFE

Joy and sorrow flow together
the one embracing the other.
Just as we can flow
with the joy of happy experience
So we can flow with the pain
of unhappy experiences.
It helps to see it all
as just a part of the richness of life.

.... happiness is gratitude .....

Perspective ... an inspiration quote !

"Our universe is an inconceivable immensity of galaxies,
clusters of galaxies,
and clusters of clusters of galaxies
speeding apart in expanding distance
with humanity as a kind of recently developed scurf
on the epidermis of one of the lesser satelites
of a minor star
on the outer arm of an average galaxy
amidst one of the lesser clusters among the thousands,
catapulting apart,
which took form some fifteen billion years ago."

 Mantra
OM  PUSHNE  NAMAH

Doesn't it feel wonderful to laugh, or to cheer for your team
with a crowd, or to sing?
It brings us not only together but also to fully EXHALE !
Chanting a mantra feels just as good!
When we vocalise the mantra we call it "japa" mantra,
often practiced using mala beads.
A full strand consists of 108 beads.
So when using a mala, you'll be repeating the mantra 108 times.

"Om Pushne Namah" (ohm push-nay nah-mah)
is one of Ganesha's 108 names and also refers to the nurturing,
healing gift of the sun's energy to sustain life on earth.

You'll notice that vocalising the mantra as a chant, comes with exhalation. Eventually, you'll enjoy "ajapa"  practice, where the mantra in repeated mentally and free to ride the waves of both in and out breaths.

So let's begin...

Choosing any comfortable sitting position with the spine upright and hands resting on your thighs, index fingers and thumbs lightly touching.

On the inhalation.... mentally saying.... Om pushne
On the exhaltion.... mentally saying.... Namah

Allowing the mind to become quiet....
Allowing the breath to flow.....
Enjoy!

being in stillness
and seizing the moment
this moment
be in this moment

knowing that:
peace comes not from DOING
but from UNDOING
not from GETTING
but from LETTING
Letting go
Letting be
